Morning: A Lantern Quintet

This is in response to Jane Dougherty’s Poetry Challenge. The poems are supposed to form a lantern shape.

Light

Dawn Breaks

Red, Orange

Streaks of color

Rise

Bird

Chirping

Sounds of spring

Break through the gloom

Sing

Cat

Rests there

Newsprint bed

Okay. You win.

Play!

Words

Blank page

Now letters

New poem comes

Write

Light

Bright sun

Clouds fly past

Words fly faster

Rise

  1. Gosh, Merril, you are getting to be the ring leader of novel poetic forms. This lantern shape appears to be a variation of technopaegnia. I love how your vignette stanzas build to a crescendo. 😉
