We sojourn on between the moons
climbing full and white and bright and clear
but still the dark I feel is near
though here there is more luminous light
where comes the song of ancient sprites
wandering through shade, illuminating sight,
nearby, a diamond girl shimmers and glows,
ensorcelling face, radiant clothes,
her tongue sings music of forest and glen
urging spring and summer, again, again,
and time is endless here and always
with shadows splashed by sun-shining blazes
and roses bloom with sweet perfume
like golden apples of the sun, yet unconsumed
and gleaming, Earth seesaws now between beginning and done,
we’re dreaming, spindrift from slipstream, time’s run

Day 29, WaPoWriMo. The penultimate day. The prompt was to take a word or phrase from a favorite poem, free associate, and then write a poem. I took some words and phrases from the Magnetic Poetry Oracle and went from there.
I’ve borrowed an image idea–using one that is similar to the one Jane Dougherty used in her dreamy vision–because I thought this golden Beatrice fit the poem. So thanks, Jane. 😉
Keep eyes open for those moons. They will lead the way out of the darkness.
Let’s hope we see them soon!
‘Earth see-saws now between beginning and done’ I love that phrase!
Thank you, Jane. I added that to the Oracle’s words. 😉
She doesn’t know see-saw. They probably didn’t have them in Ancient Greece 🙂
Ahh, true. But she’d understand the concept, I’m sure.
She understands everything 🙂 She’s just short on vocabulary.
That’s true. I think it needs an update.
Magic moons are running rampant…
your words feel very golden, like Beatrice. (K)

Thank you for stopping by.
Lovely imagery, Merril
Thank you, Derrick.
I missed this lovely post, Merril from end of April!
The golden glow (apples, image of female) the weaving of magic and stars, moon and bright light splashing all seem like a dream of creating the heavens and earth.
It also makes me think of summer’s shining into our cool winter and spring and wiping away the dreary grays of them.
Thank you for going back and reading this post, Robin. I’m so glad it brought pleasant thoughts. 🙂
