The Pleiades: Tanka

This tanka is for Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday. Colleen asked us to use synonyms for myth and write

In the before time

seven sisters soared skyward

sailing the night sea

in my dreams, I sail with them,

creating my own stories

  1. And the stories we dream are so lovely! Someone just recommended a book for me: A Little Course in Dreams by Robert Bosnak. I think I might try it! I had five vivid dreams last night that took me through the mythology of my life. :-0

  2. You certainly do create stories and poems, Merril. I liked the sound of this spoken out loud. I like to read your poems and hear the way they come out. The image of you joining the seven sisters “soaring skyward”into the “night sea” was simply delightful. ✨
