Now their eyes
see past and future,
what has been,
what could be,
embracing hope that we can change–

Thanks for publishing something hopeful on a Saturday morning. Whatever becomes of the movement(s): woman and young people are being heard. Let’s hope they will be listened to also.
Thank you, Marian, and you’re welcome. Yes, I have to hope they (we) will be listened to.
And if they don’t listen, you can all invoke your right to bear arms to defend yourselves and storm the White House. I’m joking of course. On the other hand…
I wish–well, not for that–but for some kind of peaceful solution. Like somehow the lightbulb would go off in their heads, and they would say, “what was I thinking?” I live in a fantasy world, of course. Too much tied to greed, power, religion, hate of “the other,” . . .
It seems like such an aberration to the rest of us, this notion that any cretin or child can buy or access a military style rifle and get to use it. And the response to gun crime being more guns is just bonkers.
I totally agree, Jane.
I imagine most Americans agree too, but you have congressmen and women and senators who have sold their souls to the NRA. ‘Lock ’em up!’
Yes. There is definitely a problem. We have campaigns that last for years, and so they need to be financed. . .it’s a system that has to be changed.
The moment money changes hands, you get problems.
😦
And yet there are those who dismiss them, hearing only what they want to hear and disregarding anyone who would effect change. As in the past, this will be a long drawn out moment. Movements are like that.
Yes, that is true. One can only hope and support. Thank you, Ken.
An essential positive note, Merril
Thank you, Derrick.
I support the awakening and trust that, in time, their voices will be heard.
Thank you, Suzanne. I hope so.
Yes! I love this. ♥♥♥
I saw a sign that said, “This is the answer to all your thoughts & prayers. Are you listening?” I think maybe many people are and hope they continue to do so. As for those who aren’t, well, too bad for them.
Thanks so much, Robin. Yes, I hope people are listening–finally.
Your words hit “home” for my feelings today, Merril.
Young people holding posters may move those hearts which are like stones, hardened and immoveable, into becoming warmer ones. Tears sometimes burst out of my eyes just thinking how these killings in schools have taken so Much away from us All!
Yes, you are right, Robin. Thank you.
I appreciate how you took this and presented it in such a heartfelt manner, Merril. You’re welcome for my thoughts but you were great here!
🙂
