Wind whispers sweet-tongued symphony,
soars, and lighting forest
(so not his friend, the goddess)
driving from above, his life,
as if in a dream, at this lake
showing you there.
You worship you
are gorgeous,
cool–
and you delirious—
See this he? Please love me,
swim,
I ache–
But no, death rose,
too late—the lie—
it is me.
We know how the Magnetic Poetry Oracle loves her myths, and she gave me a poem that fits (I added just a bit of editing) the NaPoWriMo prompt to write about Narcissus.
We know the story could apply to many. 😉
Nice, and from the Oracle, no less.
I have a busy day, and don’t see myself trying the prompt, but I may turn to the Oracle this evening.
I have a busy day, too, so I thought I’d see what the Oracle had to say. Maybe she’ll give you an on-prompt poem, too. 🙂
I’m in the midst of a day of poetry readings, so hopefully that will inspire.
Apparently it did! 🙂
🙂
We had the same idea! I wasn’t going to do this prompt, then the first line I got from the Oracle said—Narcissus. Yours is much more complex. She really went to town with this one!
Thanks, Jane. Yours was more to the point, but the Oracle definitely wanted to do the prompt. 🙂
She made that quite clear 🙂
🙂
I do feel this was meant to be your poem, as it flows and is so natural. I like your Narcissus reference and the ending is so apt, Merril.
Thanks so much, Robin. It is amazing how the Oracle works! 🙂
It is certainly something (she’s) speaking to you, Merril. You and Jane seem really in touch with her.
🙂
Love how you formatted this – it rolls marvelously!
Thank you, Jilly.
It’s amazing how the Oracle just seems to know. Of course, at other times, she doesn’t want to reveal anything. 🙂
What a great response the Oracle gave you! And the painting is perfect.
I’m just first sitting down in my office…I’m not sure where or what I’ll get done today. It’s 4pm already! Oh well. (K)
Thank you. It is hard to get everything in. 🙂
Excellent ending!
Thank you very much, Candice!
