The Dawn Chorus, Tanka

Laud the dawn chorus–

robin, cardinal, and wren

trill night into day

light streaming golden and pink

as cherry blossoms in spring

This tanka is for Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday, using synonyms for sing and celebrate, and for Frank’s Haikai Challenge.

  2. Merril, I love this Tanka poem. It has great rhythm and flow. I can see your words. “…Light streaming golden and pink like the cherry blossoms…” This imagery is breathtaking. ❤
