First blush, dawn
starts each day anew–
ripe with hope
untouched by
the future, only yet glimpsed,
a shimmer of light
A shadorma for Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday—synonyms for begin and fresh. I didn’t see the sunrise today, only snow.

Lovely! Stay indoors and watch it through the window 🙂
Thank you! I think the snow has pretty much stopped. I hope. 🙂
It’s always prettier when it stops, and the sun comes out and melts it 🙂
It looks like the sun is trying to come out. I just hope it’s not icy later.
I hope so too. That’s when accidents happen.
Yes.
Value of poetry includes creating in the mind what cannot be seen through the window … beautiful “blush” image and your words make it “real enough to satisfy” … even for one who slept in and woke to bright daytime.
Aww–thank you. That is such a lovely comment!
Beautiful, Merril! I hope you’re not getting hit with too much snow. Stay safe!
Thank you, Jill. We didn’t get very much.
Just snow here too, but I was able to see a beautiful sunrise through your words. 🙂
Thank you, Robin! 🙂
I was happy to wake up and see the snow had missed us. I’m sure it will make a visit soon.
Every morning does seem a new start, however trying the previous day. (K)
Thank you, Kerfe. We didn’t get too much, but I know we’re supposed to get more in the next couple weeks.
You share the best photos, Merril. No snow? And, what delicate colors the sun graces us with. Your Shadorma is full of hope and new beginnings. ❤
Thank you, Colleen. The photo was from yesterday morning. There will probably be some snow photos in my post tomorrow. 🙂
We finally got a few inches. I’m thrilled. I don’t want wild fires again this year. ❤
Oh that’s good. We’ve had a lot of rain.
That perfect moment to start the day…. before life intrudes
Yes, exactly. It’s quiet and peaceful, especially on the weekends.
Weekends were made for peaceful and tranquility. Yeah. Mostly.
Yeah, hardly ever works out that way though.

Gorgeous offerings Merril, Words abd photigraph, beautiful.
Thank you very much, Holly!
You are so welcome!
🙂
Inspiring, Merril.
a canvas waiting
taking its cue from first light
hues of hope revealed
Thanks, Ken.
I love your response!
🙂
I love a blushing sky, but gray-tones are nice because sometimes they contain possibilities.
That’s a good way of looking at it, Marian! 🙂
