First Blush, Dawn

First blush, dawn

starts each day anew–

ripe with hope

untouched by

the future, only yet glimpsed,

a shimmer of light

A shadorma for Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday—synonyms for begin and fresh. I didn’t see the sunrise today, only snow.

  1. Value of poetry includes creating in the mind what cannot be seen through the window … beautiful “blush” image and your words make it “real enough to satisfy” … even for one who slept in and woke to bright daytime.

  2. I was happy to wake up and see the snow had missed us. I’m sure it will make a visit soon.
Every morning does seem a new start, however trying the previous day. (K)
