Hear Me, I’m Here, NaPoWriMo

Here! He cries,

Here I am, me.

Hear me, he sings

then Cardinal takes wing.

See me, in wind she winds

and calls. Caw! Caw!

See me, in wind she whirls,

glides in a sea-misted twirl.

They’re there, then go,

their feathers glistening–

while I stand here, then there,

watching and listening.

For Day 14, NaPoWriMo. I’ve incorporated some homonyms. I’m tired today, but I was determined to write something.

  1. Oh I felt the same with today’s prompt…slept half-way through writing it and labelled myself as ‘boring’ when I read what others came up with. lol. Read your comment and felt better.

  2. Stirred up a playful spurt on my end – I’m heading outside to look for my resident cardinals and notice how they notice me and whooooosh to a new roost … only to keep watching me watching them … kind of like playing peek-a-boo.

    • Thank you so much! There are a bunch of birds singing now here in New Jersey–I guess the evening chorus. I would love to see some of the birds and other wildlife you have there in New Zealand.

  3. The birds were going crazy with song here today, and your words really reminded me of how I’m always trying to see them and then the voice comes from a totally different place. it’s those wings…(K)
