Castaway

“We all were sea-swallow’d, though some cast again,

And by that destiny to perform an act

Whereof what’s past is prologue,”

–William Shakespeare, The Tempest

Castaway,

the tide brings treasures

lost at sea,

and found–

we begin again

find magic

in ordinary things,

discover beauty

and hold life in woven strands–

fated patterns of past and future.

  1. I like the analogy of the waves bringing in treasures, things in our lives we have lost or lost touch with, reminding us again of their importance. Timely piece, Merril .
